We are currently seeking an Accounting Assistant for FOODSHARE in Oxnard.
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for the accurate and timely processing ofFOOD ShareEUR(TM)s accounts receivables transactions, donations, bank deposits, andspecial events revenues.
This position is also responsible for maintaining the donordatabase and oversight of the accounts payable process.
This is a full-time hourly position.
Essential Functions:
EUR Provide accounting support to the Accounting Manager and CFO.
EUR Process credit card transactions, and record donations from multipleplatforms in the financial system.
EUR Prepare monthly Accounts Receivable statements and ensureinvoices are mailed in a timely fashion.
EUR Ensures that the agency accounts receivable records areaccurately maintained.
EUR Input donor giving activity into the donor database software.
EUR Update donor contact information and solicitation preferences.
EUR Prepare donor thank you letters and ensure they are mailed in a timelyfashion.
EUR Monitor and advise the Development team of key gifts received usingestablished guidelines.
EUR Communicate with the Development department regarding donorEUR(TM)s intentwhen necessary.
EUR Provide periodic reports to the Development department and externalsources related to donor activity, fundraising campaigns, and specialevent revenues.
EUR Record, and track special event revenues.
EUR Code donations according to direct mail program guidelines.
EUR Responsible for maintaining appropriate electronic records incompliance with accounting department policies and external guidelines.
EUR Compile information for month-end cycle and year-end audits.
EUR Work in an efficient and organized fashion to meet tight deadlines in afast-paced environment with conflicting priorities.
EUR Oversee the timely processing of accounts payable.
EUR Input volunteer hours into the donor database program.
EUR Maintain confidentiality of all FOOD Share business.
EUR Work with other departments as needed.
EUR Other duties as assigned.
Job
Qualifications:
1.
Must possess a minimum of three years of accounting experience.
2.
Nonprofit accounting knowledge a plus.
3.
Attention to details and accuracy are extremely important.
4.
Ability to be flexible and prioritize tasks to meet competing deadlines.
5.
Must have keen time management, organizational skills.
6.
strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
7.
Superior multi-tasking skills with the ability to work well under pressure ina team-oriented environment.
8.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9.
Proficiency with computers and ability to quickly learn new softwareapplications.
10.
Knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, and mail merge applications.
11.
Demonstrates a professional attitude, with a respectful and friendlydemeanor.
12.
Able to work well in a team environment.
13.
Valid CA driverEUR(TM)s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
14.
Reliable personal transportation recommended/preferred.
15.
Able to lift periodically up to 50 pounds.
16.
Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
Departmental Requirements:
EUR All Finance staff are required to be organized and efficient atprioritizing projects;EUR All Finance staff needs to have exemplary customer service skills tocommunicate with all food bank stakeholders.
EUR All Finance staff needs to comply with the department and FoodShare policies, including Food Safety Standards throughout the organization.
