Summary:
Responsible for cashier duties, customer service, stock rotation, general housekeeping, shipping and receiving operations, new-hire training, and prioritizing daily tasks to ensure quality and customer satisfaction by performing the following:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned:
CUSTOMER SERVICE Assists customers in finding the right tools or products required for the job.
Performs cashier duties including product scanning, accepting payment, and balancing cash drawer.
Takes and processes phone orders.
Processes store item transfers between VGS locations based on customer demand or requirements.
Ensures high level of accuracy for customer transactions.
Helps load purchased items into customer vehicle.
INVENTORY Counts inventory using tablet technology in accordance with company policy and procedures.
Responsible for stocking, organizing, rotating and labeling store items.
Maintains a safe work environment by ensuring good housekeeping.
Assists with investigation of inventory variances.
SHIPPING AND RECEIVING Responsible for shipping VGS orders via UPS, Fed Ex, or other transportation.
Ensures proper packaging of product being shipped out.
Prepares transfers, packing slips, and or other required documents.
Ensures shipments meet carrier specifications (size, weight, etc.
) Receives and stocks incoming packages.
Unloads and inspects condition and quality of items received.
Completes packing slips, freight bills and other appropriate paperwork for items received.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Trains and assists newly hired employees.
Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication with the management, co-workers, contractors, customers, affiliates, vendors and all other business contacts.
Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner by conducting daily forklift inspections, following established safety procedures, using appropriate safeguards and observing common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities.
Willing to travel to other locations to fill in on occasion.
Other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
