An organization within Northrop Grumman Space Systems' Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, the Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit (BU) seeks a Director Mission Assurance 1 to join our diverse team of professionals.
The Director of Mission Assurance will lead a team responsible for ensuring the implementation and improvement of quality, environmental, health, safety and training principles and processes for the MEP BU.
This position may be located at any MEP BU facility in California (San Diego, Commerce, Goleta, or Oxnard) with required travel to other Northrop Grumman facilities.
Functional responsibilities in a hybrid organizational structure include Quality Management Systems, Quality Engineering and Inspection, Supplier Quality Engineering, EHS, and Training.
A successful candidate for this role will have the following
Responsibilities:
Establish and execute the overall strategies, objectives, and long-term goals of the Mission Assurance functions within the Business Unit.
Achieve the Safety, Quality, Employee, Delivery and Cost expectations for internal and external customers.
Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with Mission Assurance and EHS programs, policies, processes, procedures and that the performance and quality of products/processes conform to established standards, specifications, and agency guidelines.
Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System(s) including AS9100 and NADCAP certifications across the Business Unit.
This also includes leadership and execution of our Corrective Action and Material Review Boards and internal auditing.
Lead Supplier Quality Performance Management partnering with Global Supply Chain to improve supplier performance through the Business Unit Procurement Quality Board, PQB at each Operating Unit and creating a support request system, turnback tracker, and observation logs in accordance with NGC's Aggregated Approved Supplier List (AASL)Lead teams of product quality specialists servicing customers and EHS professionals ensuring the safety of our employees and our environment.
Including the case management of COVID-19 impacts and reporting requirementsMaintains strong customer relationships and acts as a liaison with customers to understand and improve business unit quality performance partnerships.
Develops, implements, and continuously improves upon safety and mission assurance processes and standards within the business unit and in support of the Payload and Ground Systems Division.
Ensures the flightworthiness of products relative to physical and functional requirements.
Ensures review of product and process data to identify weaknesses in processes and appropriate actions taken to mitigate weaknesses.
Leads root cause and corrective action process (RCCA) and analysis on failure investigations for high impact issues and lead personnel in use of RCCA for low impact level issues.
Lead development and execution of Training Program enhancing training function capability and support to the business and create consistent monitoring and maintenance of multiple systems.
Drive the continuous improvement of people (to include training & development), products, processes, systems, and services through the application of innovative technologies, lean principles, six-sigma projects, common best practices and other appropriate tools and techniques.

Basic
Qualifications:
10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related fieldAerospace and Defense industry experienceManagement/leadership experience in a Quality or Mission Assurance role (direct-reports or via projects/teams)Quality or Mission Assurance experience working all phases of a product life cycle.
Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 based Quality Management Systems and Certifications Experience conducting or managing internal audits.
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead across multiple organizations and disciplines.
Demonstrated skill interpreting and presenting data to influence business outcomes.
Ability to travel up to 25%Preferred
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into business action plans and successfully execute.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple functions across geographically dispersed sites.
Demonstrated superior customer relationship skills.

$190,600.
00 - $286,000.
00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
